My white gown is hung up in my closet along with my blue "class of 2003" sash, my tassle is hanging to the left side of my cap, and my diploma is sitting on my desk. I am officially an alumni of McDowell High School.
And it couldn't be more weird, even though it STILL hasn't set in.
The ceremony was very nice, and verrrrry long. But thats what you get for going to a school that big. I graduated with 470 of my fellow students.
Everyone looked so nice in their blue or white gowns. I thought for sure that I'd get choked up seeing everyone in their caps and gowns, but I think in between the excitement and nervousness, length of the ceremony and the sweltering heat of the Civic Center (how do those hockey players play in those conditions??) I forgot to think. I honestly did. I don't even remember seeing half of the people go up and get their diplomas. It sucks being at the end of the alphabet.
The speakers had good speeches as well. I especially enjoyed Nick Krauses speech, although I don't think the faculty did. haha. I feel bad for Jenna Fizel too..the end of her speech was supposed to be funny, but no one really got it..it went right over our heads. oh well.
After the ceremony ended, and all the caps and superballs were thrown around, and the pictures were taken, I headed out to the after grad party.
I went with DJ and Cara and we had a lot of fun. I did the Dino Jump bungi run and I seriously think that I pulled the ligaments in my arms. ouch. I also landed funny on my neck and pinched a nerve or something, cause dayum am I sore.
We chilled by the pool for awhile cause none of us brought suits. It was rather amusing, most people forgot suits so they just rummaged through the lost and found pile and wore those clothes. Kinda gross if you ask me..
Around 1:30, Stephen called my cell and wanted to hang out with us, so we decided to peace out a little early and hang with him for awhile...(read the next entry)
