oh canada..
after midnight - november 15th 2002

This morning I got up super early (we are talking 4:45 here!) and went to get Steph. We had plans to meet Tabitha, Cara and Mallory for breakfast at EP, but after we waited for awhile and they didn't show, we went in and ate anyways cause we were hungry. Our waitress was definitely annoying.

After breakfast we made a quick Giant Eagle stop to kill time and Steph wanted to get some drinks. Then we headed to the school and waited.

About 15 minutes later, people began arriving, so we got our stuff and got on the last bus, in hopes that it would be the least crowded. Um not. It was probably the fullest, but we still had an awesome bus..almost all of our friends that were going were on there.

The ride down was pretty calm. Mostly people slept, listened to their CDs, watched movies, talked quietly, or whatever. The ride took about 4 hours total..and thankfully we got through customs with no problems.

First stop was the Ontario Science Centre. We had to stay there for about 3 hours. We got to go through it at our own pace and do whatever, just as long as we went to the Mind Works exhibit..which was the whole point of going anyways. lol. I hung out with Steph, Shelby and Renee the whole time. I had fun. There were some cool exhibits..and some very rude people. I dunno if it's just me, but some Canadians (and Americans!) can be really rude! Running into you without apologizing or anything.

Everyone was to report back to the buses at 2:45, and then we were gonna go downtown for some free time. We didn't leave the science center till around 3:15 because of some delays, but then we left and headed for the Eaton Centre.

Me, Steph, Shelby & Renee checked out the mall and shopped for awhile. Five stories dude..I was in heaven! lol. Then we decided to check out Yonge street and all the stores there. Somewhere along the way we stopped and got our pictures taken with some random bear and this fat Santa Claus, that was hitting on Renee. It was funny.

After shopping for awhile, we got hungry and went to Hard Rock Cafe. Wellsbi, Elizabeth and Alicia were there when we were so we all ate together. THAT was an experience in itself..our waitress was a snob and refused to convert our checks to american money..so she gave us one big bill that came to like $84. um no. So we went and asked a manager to convert our checks into separate ones, and she did it with no problem. Some people are just so annoying.

Once we left the restaurant we had about 30 minutes left, and I had about $20 worth of canadian money that I needed to spend or I'd lose it, so we went shopping for a little longer. I ended up buying the new Otown CD. heh heh. (ps..it's really good!) After that it was time to start heading back, so I made a quick stop at the washroom (haha..gotta love canada!) and went to wait for our buses. We ended up waiting FOREVER until they got there. It was really cold!

The ride home started out calm..a lot of people fell asleep. Myself included. They played "Dragonfly" and I already have it at home so I didn't bother watching it. After awhile, I woke up, and me and Steph noticed Wellsbi was fast asleep with her mouth wide open, so we busted out our cameras and took pictures. heh heh. Unfortunately she woke up and was like "what are you doing??" so I go, "I'm taking pictures of Lake Ontario!"..and no, there WAS no lake ontario in view at the time. It was quite funny. Then I think I fell asleep some more until we got to the border and had to show our birth certificates and some sort of photo ID. I suppose the US is a tad more cautious about who they let into the country anymore..which I guess is a good thing.

About a half hour before we hit home, a lot of people were trying to sleep until the guys in the front thought it would be a fun time to sing, clap, and take requests from us in the back. riight. So the last half hour was a medley of random songs..mostly 80's. I gave up on sleeping.

We got home around 11:30 and were welcomed by snow. Lovely erie. I came home and visited with the rents for a bit, then took a nice long shower. mmm.

Now it's time for some one on one with my pillow :)

Random thought : spending american money in canada is so much better..you get stuff for cheaper! For instance..$20 american is $28 canadian. aw yea!

Another random thought: canadian ketchup sucks..it tastes like sugary tomatoes. Build a Heinz factory!
